Douglas Oldmixon serves as Administrator of the Texas Real Estate Commission and
Commissioner of the Texas Appraiser Licensing & Certification Board. Licensed as an
Attorney and a Real Estate Broker since 1985, he has experience in all major sectors
of the real estate industry: from law and finance to title insurance, land development
to sales brokerage, and institutional investments to portfolio management.
From 2004 to 2009, Doug was Managing Broker and General Counsel at Spillar Oldmixon Advisors
Realty, LLC, offering development services and professional brokerage representation for
residential, commercial and investment real estate clients.
Prior to that, he served as the Executive Director of the Texas Veterans Land Board from
2000 to 2003. In that role he was a member of the Texas Appraiser Licensing & Certification
Board.
A retired USAF Reserve officer with over 26 years of service, Lt Col Oldmixon is a
veteran of Desert Storm and served two tours of duty in Iraq after September 11, 2001.
With extensive career experience in real estate, public and military service, Doug has
earned a reputation for integrity, strategic innovation, and effective change management.
